I don't own any of the mangas, so this is just from what I've learned.

Joe is still alive, aparently. He was saved just before he was killed by Shogun. He now has a big scar on his neck.

Joe is alive and he has a son. When Joe was about to get finished off by the monkeys, a human saved him and kept him as a pet.
Joe has a huge scar on his neck, but he looks almost identical to Weed. The difference between the two from the front (you can't see the scar from the front) is Joe's collar, and his eyes are slightly thinner than Weed's. He does not cry (while Weed does) when he and Weed meet, because he said that he had shed all his tears out when he had parted with Saheiji and Yukimura, and because he had heard of his brother's death.
Joe can use the same Battouga attack as Yukimura.

Is that someone who knows why dogs are flees and that the dog besides the river says to Kotetsu?
Is something that Kotetsu and Koyuki thinks it´s Weed^^

What's up with Hybird? Is he some sort of man-eating bear like Akakabuto was? I also herd he's a mix between a polar bear and a grizzly. I hope this is the new arc: bears. My japanese-american friend told me there's another bear that fought with Jerome and Weed. Someone should post pics

I have just got GDW manga volumes 48, 49 and 50 with the help of my parents and I say that this volume contains action and now hope in it. However, I don't need to write a summary about volume 50 because Mako had mentioned it earlier in the previous Ginga Board.
First I will tell you this summary of volume 48 from me then here it goes...

VOLUME 48

CHAPTER 1
Weed, the Kogas, the Ohu dogs, Viktor and the Soviet Dogs turn to see Hiro and GB leading the pet dog army in the gorge. At the other side, Rocket's three mongrel friends (those dogs who appeared in Kamakiri subplot) were also leading the charge with the pet dogs. Weed calls Hiro and GB to stop in their tracks much to the other dogs' disgust. Weed does a speech (maybe about his stupid morals, I don't know the words well) that Viktor got very pissed-off and attacked him.
As Viktor took advantage of the surprised Weed by grabbing him on the neck, he toppled the pup to the ground and did a twister attack which prompted Samu and Toshimishi the Koga dogs to force Viktor to let go of Weed. Then, Viktor who is pissed-off as usual called off his pack to retreat to the other end of the gorge where Rocket's friends were. The Three Mongrel Friends responded this by trying to attack Viktor and the dogs only to be knocked out by the Soviet doggies. Hiro saw this and shouted at the scared pet dogs at the other side to catch Viktor and the pack but only a few packmates of Viktor were caught.
Hiro, GB and the pet dogs begin to charge when (silly) Weed stops them in their tracks again. They turn to see that the unconscious Gin was beginning to die soon. Way to go Weed for stopping Hiro and your friends from fighting Viktor...
CHAPTER 2
Weedy (I call him that) tries to call out his unconscious father to wake up only to have no response. Then, Akame (who is also a first aider in the pack besides being a ninja dog) tries several times to revive his friend but to no success.
The injured Maxim tries the Soviet Dog first aid style by knocking Gin hard that threw him into the air and landed a few feet away. Maxim then grabs Gin like what Alam did to him earlier and shakes his body but he also failed as well. The exhausted Maxim starts to break down and collapse to the ground apologizing to the others that he failed.
Weed begins to cry even more and many dogs around him begin to howl as if there would be a funeral for the beloved old leader.
Meanwhile, Daisuke and Hidetoshi were on the cliff watching the whole thing below, Daisuke spots the nearly-dead Gin from his binoculars and he shouts several times to his old friend to wake up. The dogs below look up at Hidetoshi and Gin's former owner, maybe there will be hope for them!
Suddenly, the dogs hear a groan and they had found out that Daisuke's method is working! Yay! Gin is alive!
Outside the gorge, Viktor and his pack are running around unaware that Alam and his packmates were watching them.
CHAPTER 3
Daisuke and Hidetoshi move further down to the gorge to see his old friend. All the reinforcement pack dogs moved aside to make way for the two humans.
Oh what joy! Daisuke goes closer to stroke the wounded Gin for a reunion and he also strokes Weed as well (remember that time when Weed met Daisuke in the Kaibutsu plot? Weed had seen Daisuke as the good human from taking him in to be treated). Hidetoshi told Daisuke that a lot of dogs around them need some treatment so Gin's former owner told Gin and the dogs to wait while he and Hidetoshi might come back later with first aid and water.
Weed asks his father whether he knows his former owner and the dogs around him talk about this kind human. Then, they were interrupted when they saw Ramu and the reinforcement pack arrive late at the gorge. The dogs discussed what they can do to stop Viktor and the Soviet pack; the Ohu dogs, Maxim and Ridia chose to remain there to be treated while the stubborn Kyoushiro and a few remaining Junior Ninja dogs decided to follow Weed, Ramu, Hiro, Hook, Rocket, GB, Sasuke and the reinforcement pack to fight Viktor.
CHAPTER 4
Weed and his pack divided themselves into three groups to search for Viktor. While Weed's group (led by Weed, Ramu, Kyoushiro and GB) moved on straight, Hiro and Sasuke's group were moving to the West and Rocket's group (led by Rocket himself and Hook) were moving to the East.
Meanwhile, Daisuke and Hidetoshi were on the road heading back to the destination in their car with lots of bottles of water, towels and first aid kit.
Back to Weed's group, they are running in the fields only to find the deer carcass which the Soviet dogs had caught it earlier, the hungry Kyoushiro begin to eat the deer carcass (with Weed's permission) and some of the pet dogs follow Kyoushiro.
Somewhere else, Viktor and his group had gathered up their spoils of their hunt and Viktor told one of them to leave only one freshly-hunted rabbit on the trail (he might be planning something for a trap)...
At the gorge, Daisuke and Hidetoshi had came back with their supplies only to find that Gin and others were gone. As they looked around, they saw that Gin and the dogs were sitting in the field waiting for them! Daisuke and Hidetoshi went on to treat the dogs by washing the wounds, cleaning the cuts and bandaging them.
Back to Weed's group, while they resumed running on the field to look for Viktor, they found a freshly-hunted rabbit there left by Viktor's dogs...Uh oh...
CHAPTER 5
The dogs were discussing about how strange it was for the freshly-hunted rabbit to be left on the field when they heard the cawing of the crows from a distance. Kyoushiro dashed off the field to the forest in an impulse that Weed and his group had to follow him.
As they reached the forest, they heard a loud cry from Kyoushiro in which they found that Weed had managed to save Kyoushiro in time from falling off the cliff. While Weed was on the branch holding the dangling Kyoushiro by his tail, they saw Viktor and his army were waiting for them below to fall off! Minutes later, Viktor had grew bored of Kyoushiro yelling his head off with lots of insults that they left the place. As Weed threw Kyoushiro back to where GB, Ramu and the reinforcement pack are, Weed saw the dead rabbit was impaled on the branch and he speculated that it had been a trap made by Viktor which made Kyoushiro get very frustrated and angry. Just then, they saw Hiro and Rocket's group had arrived back to Weed's group.
The frustrated Kyoushiro told Weed and the others what had happened in Hokkaido such as he and Teru's Junior Ninjas had saved Toshimishi the Koga dog from getting mauled by Viktor's dogs (as well as running back to Ohu as a messenger for Weed's group), their imprisonment in the gorge for days without food and water, Moss' sacrifice, Buruge and Shinbe's (the Koga dog) deaths, their battles and Teru got badly-injured by Viktor. Weed begins to shed his tears and he realizes that Viktor is more dangerous and ruthless than Hougen that he must be stopped.
Meanwhile, Alam and his comrades were on the hill watching Viktor and his pack running past planning what to do with him.
CHAPTER 6
Back at the place near the gorge, Daisuke and Hidetoshi gave the dogs some water to drink and Hidetoshi was discussing something to Daisuke. Some of the wounded Soviet dogs who were bandaged had got up and left the place quietly, Gin persuaded to them that they could try to join them to fight Viktor later but to no avail. Maxim told Gin that they were to used to following Viktor and Bozlef and now that they were wounded and if had to fight their leader (Viktor) when they are healed, they would be killed so they have to leave it to themselves wandering around without their leader.
Daisuke and Hidetoshi had loaded Teru, Mushashi and Jaguar into the van to be taken to the vet as they were badly-injured. Before Hidetoshi and Daisuke drive off, the former owner went over to Gin to say goodbye and he told him that his friends will be okay and may return soon.
Somewhere else, some of Viktor's spies reported to Viktor that one of the groups are lost somewhere so it is time for them to attack.
On the hill, Hiro's group (led by Hiro himself, Sasuke and Toshimishi the Koga) were wandering around on their search for Viktor. Silly Sasuke wanders off the group by himself that he tumbled down the hill, Hiro went down to check on Sasuke only to feel that something had squelched at his paws and he found that he had stepped on something rotten. Sasuke made a remark which Hiro got annoyed that he knocked his head and scolded him for wandering off and making fun of him. Then, they resumed back to running along at the bottom of the hill unaware that they were watched by Viktor's dogs. And now as Viktor's dogs rushed down the hill, they are ambushed!
CHAPTER 7
Now that the dogs are under attack by Viktor's dogs, only Viktor himself was standing on top of the hill watching the battle.
Meanwhile, Weed and Rocket's group had heard the commotion that they rushed to the place.
While the pet dogs tried to fight against Viktor's dogs even though they had little experience, Hiro himself fought fiercely and thrashed them by grabbing one of the Soviet dogs with his roundhouse attack clobbering the nearby Soviet dogs. Toshimishi the Koga dog pounced on Viktor, headbutted him and they square off. Hiro who tore off one of the Soviet Dogs' testicles encouraged the inexperienced pet dogs to fight back. When one of the pet dogs was in trouble, Sasuke rushed up to grab one of the Soviet dogs' leg only to be thrown off instead. While they were fighting against the Russian Dog soldiers, Viktor grabbed a nearby pet dog and held him as a hostage.
However just in time, Weed and his group had joined into the fight, the pissed-off Viktor rushed towards Kyoushiro when he got knocked down by Weed.
CHAPTER 8
As the knocked down Viktor flew into the air and tumbled onto the grass, Weed was about to pounce on him when Viktor's comrades held him back allowing Viktor to run off calling them to retreat. While Viktor and his soldiers retreated, the pet dogs tried to stop them but to no avail and Hiro too tried to go after Viktor by himself only to get kicked in the face. Weed then commanded Hiro's and his own group to follow Viktor and the soldiers in which Rocket's group also arrived and joined in the chase.
The three groups chased Viktor and his pack into the forest until they reached the river. Viktor taunted the groups that they may not catch up with him but Weed, Rocket, GB, Hiro, Sasuke, Hook, Kyoushiro, the Kogas and some of the pet dogs dove into the waters and swam anyway...

And now for the summary of GDW volume 49...

VOLUME 49

CHAPTER 1
As we have first left off with Weed and friends going after Viktor at the river, Viktor's soldiers responded this chase by jumping into the waters to fight Weed and pack. GB and others who saw the trouble began to swim away when they found themselves completely surrounded by more Soviet doggies.
One of Viktor's soldiers pounced towards Weed but he managed to duck in time through underwater. As Weed and Viktor's soldier engaged into an underwater fight, more soldiers dove in after Weed, he managed to fend the soldiers off and leap himself out of the water like a dolphin. At a few distance away from Weed, Hiro and others had to go back to the bank where the rest of the pet dogs are for safety, they could only watch and worry about the little leader try to fend the Soviet doggies off.
However, as they saw Weed was really in trouble, the brash Hiro, Kyoushiro and the two Junior Ninjas jumped into the water to get Weed out (make up your mind goddamn it!). Just as Hiro, Kyoushiro and the Junior Ninjas were about to swim towards Weed and the Russian dogs, they noticed that there was a huge log coming towards Viktor's soldiers. Before Viktor could warn them to swim away, the soldiers were hit and Rocket notices some dogs underwater were actually bringing a log and had taken Weed.
CHAPTER 2
The dogs on both sides were confused about who were propelling the log and their intentions on Weed that they decided to call off the fight and find the mysterious dogs.
Meanwhile, Gin and the Ohu dogs looked at the bodies of Moss, Buruge, Shinbe and some other dogs (with the few dead Russian dogs like Bozlef were included too) and held a memorial for them. The Ohu dogs discussed each other and decided that they have to move away from the gorge to find Weed and others.
Minutes later, Daisuke and Hidetoshi arrived to the gorge with dog food only to find that Gin and others were gone.
At another distance after the river, Viktor and his soldiers were moving along and discussing about the mysterious dogs and the whereabouts of the brat...err...I mean Weed.
Near the river, the unconscious Weed wakes up to find himself surrounded by the mysterious dogs who are actually Alam and his subordinates. Alam told Weed that he had seen Viktor and his squad all along and he decided to follow Maxim's idea of rebelling even though he himself was in doubt.
Elsewhere, the pet dogs who had followed Hiro were resting on the bottom of the hill with their minor wounds, they were having a conversation when they saw some mysterious dogs on top of the hill which looked like German Shepherds were coming towards them...
CHAPTER 3
The frightened wounded pet dogs were about to call for Hiro when the German Shepherds told them that they did not come to attack but rather to talk to them. The pet dogs also looked in disbelief as they saw Alam had also came down the hill looking less threatening.
At another part of the forest, Rocket, GB, Hiro, Sasuke and others had found Weed and dashed towards him relieved that he is okay. After some reunion sentiments and conversation with Weed, they decided to go after Alam to thank him but they could not do it as Weed told them that he had to rest one more time.
Back to Alam, he and his subordinates had a talk with the pet dogs that he would be ready to be an ally and help Weed and pack to defeat Viktor. After the pet dogs leave as Alam told them to look for Weed and pack, they (Alam and his subordinates) discussed among themselves about becoming allies. As more of his subordinates are ready to be join Weed and pack as allies to fight for a cause, Alam is touched and begins to cry.
CHAPTER 4
The wounded pet dogs had found Weed and pack as well as bringing some good news, we also see that now Weed is awake again and ready. Now both Weed's pack and Alam's had crossed the river (but rather at a different distance) to look for Viktor.
Meanwhile, Gin, Maxim, Ridia and the Ohu dogs were walking in the different part of the forest when they saw something in the long grass, it happened to be a dead dog whom Maxim told them that it was Viktor's soldier. After some discussion, the Ohu dogs decided that they have to bury the dead. As they were giving it a burial, some Soviet dogs (the ones which were bandaged by Daisuke and Hidetoshi earlier in the previous volume) were watching them at another part of the hill and had wondered why their opponents were doing this. Just as Gin was about to give a memorial speech, the Ohu dogs had sensed someone nearby. And when Ken and George were about to give chase, Maxim stopped them in their tracks so he, Ridia and all the Ohu dogs had decided to approach Viktor's subordinates together. As they walked cautiously on the long grass, Maxim saw Viktor's bandaged subordinates were bowing down to them and crying as they were rather touched and had decided to join Maxim, Ridia and Gin's group.
CHAPTER 5
Weed and his pack who had been running along the field when they had smelt the ocean. The group decided to divide themselves so that Hiro, Sasuke and others have to stay behind while Weed, Rocket, GB, Ramu, Kyoushiro and Samu the Koga dog had to go out to look for clues.
As Weed and friends reached to the beach, they had only found the doggy tracks were leading to the waters. Weed's group discussed among themselves about how could Viktor and his group could vanish like this but Rocket who has a better sense of smell (and his longer nose) had decided to look for clues. As the group had followed Rocket, they saw a lone Russian dog was swimming in the water.
CHAPTER 6
As for Hiro's group, they have been resting under the shade of trees (as well as Sasuke and Hiro joking among themselves). One of the Junior Ninja dogs told Hiro, Sasuke and others to be quiet so that he could give a ninja dog call for Samu. However, they saw Alam and his group approaching to them much to Hiro's annoyance.
At the beach, Weed and friends jumped into the waters to give chase to the lone swimming Russian dog only to be ambushed by Viktor and his group coming towards them from behind. They had fell into the trap! Viktor himself leapt for Weed followed by his soldiers attacking GB, Rocket, Ramu, Kyoushiro and Samu. While they try to fend off Viktor's soldiers (as well as getting pulled underwater), only Samu the Koga dog had managed to evade Viktor's soldiers by running UNDERWATER like a submarine doggy and tried to give a distress ninja dog call to Hiro's group.
At the field, Hiro was arguing with Alam (since he had a fight with him earlier in volume 45 and 46 as well as he could not trust him) when one of the Junior Ninjas answered the distress call. Hiro, Sasuke and others had to follow the Junior Ninja dog leaving Alam and his subordinates behind.
CHAPTER 7
Weed and friends were having trouble with Viktor and his pack from fighting and getting pulled underwater. However, Weed managed to shake Viktor off and had swam up to the surface to catch a breath. As Weed had reached to the surface, he looked around and found that GB, Kyoushiro and Ramu were missing while Rocket was trying to fend off Viktor's soldiers. Just as more soldier dogs were about to drown him, Weed dove into the waters in time and he found GB struggling for breath underwater trying to fight a soldier dog. Weed managed to save GB from drowning and went off to find another in which he found poor Ramu nearly drowning and saved him as well. Then, Rocket had also found Kyoushiro and threw him to Weed and Ramu, Kyoushiro had revealed to Weed and Ramu that he had faked himself drowning. Samu was giving more distress calls to Hiro's group when Viktor's soldiers were approaching behind him. Fortunately, Samu noticed and managed to evade himself and bounced onto the soldier dogs' heads like a stepping stone.
Hiro and his group were now running towards the beach to help Weed and friends in trouble.
CHAPTER 8
However, Viktor got pissed-off as usual and tried to drag Weed down underwater but Samu came to Weed's aid by forcing him to let go off Weed. Hiro and his group dove into the water and swam towards the group that Viktor and his soldiers had decided to swim away for retreat. Weed and Samu who were underwater saw Viktor and his dogs ran underwater as submarine dogs. As Weed, Hiro and others wondered what to do next and why Viktor retreated, Alam and his subordinates were standing on the edge of the hill towards the beach felt that this is not right.
Meanwhile, the Ohu dogs, Maxim and Ridia had rode on the train (by sitting ON TOP of the train not boarding inside the train) were reaching to the destination and jumped off the train to look for Weed and others.
Back to the beach, Weed and others decided that they have to remain on the shore to wait for any sign of Viktor and the submarine doggies to turn up. However, it only came true when only three submarine soldier doggies had reached the shore though there was no sign of Viktor yet.

Update:
I dunno about the one Weed and Jerome fought, but Joe's owner shot the other Hybrid dead.

BUT

Just as the dogs are going whoopee yak yak yak, MAMA(or maybe papa) BEAR STRIKES!! Whoooo.
It's supposedly bigger than Akakabuto WTF.
Mama Hybrid has more markings than her babies. She looks like an overgrown dog....

Joe attacks Mama Hybrid but wasn't effective. As he tries to retreat, he got his tail stomped by Mama Hybrid and couldn't move. As the dogs stare in shock, Guilder (I think that was his name / he's the one who tried to use Koyuki and Kotetsu as bait) butts in. He saves Joe, but gets chomped by Mama Hybrid.

And thanks Mizzkie for the update. What the.. seems Yoshi need to practice to draw bears. And bigger then the beloved Akakabuto? Akakabuto shall always be the biggest and the most evil bear.

I had been browsing through my manga and there are some questions I could ask...
Be warned that those questions are meant for the die-hard GDW manga readers.

1. Who is that mysterious dog in Hokkaido plot? Some people say that it's Maxim and Ridia's father while some said that it might be Bozlef but I couldn't tell which is which. Here is the picture below I could show you...



2. There has been some talk earlier about Maxim's father the commander-in-chief (in a higher rank than the general I believe) in Russia way back in the old Ginga Board. Whatever happened to him? Did he ever get killed by Viktor/Bozlef or did he just die of natural causes?

3. There are some three dogs in that image below who appeared in that Kamakiri subplot and had joined the Ohu pack with the help of Rocket as well as making another appearance in the Hokkaido plot.
May I know what are the names of those three dogs?

Well I recived manga 52^^
And I can resume little (I can´t read japanese, so I tell that I see^^) and sorry for my english!

Kotetsu hunt a rabbit little futher away is it one who have cought and killed the rabbit.
Is Joes son. Soon is a big bear come by running.. After it are Joe and his hunt team, soon is the bear taken down.

Koyuki, Kotetsu and Joe is talking, soon is Weed arriving.
And is a happy reunion until Joe and his team human whitles on them.
Their master is going to a shooting area and there they talk about a big bear.

Joe son have escaped or have hide and comes to Weed, Koyuki and Kotetsu. Soon is Joe come to the place and isn´t happy at his son.
Weed do not like that way Joe punish his son. Small fight between Joe and Weed starts.
But Joe and the others return to their master soon and drive to a mountain place to walk with their master.
Weed has follow the car, and see there they going.
Sudden is a helicopter coming, Joe and the other is a bit away and Joe master slips, but Weed is there and help him get the grip again and then disapear.

On a cliff further away is two wounded people and one who waves to the helicopter.
Helicopter land with the medic and help the wounded, but soon as they are by the wounded, someone has puched a big rock and made a ravine.
All get burried under the rocks.... In the mist a bear skyline comes.....

Joes master comes to the place to late and feel sorry.

Weed sees the bear, so does Joe and his team also, and attackes the bear.

The bear start throw down more rocks, everyone besides Joe takes cover. Joe come close and attacks, but the bear is faster and Joe is wounded. Weed grap falling Joe to protect him in the fall. They are falling long way down.

They made it, but Joe is injured, dogs of the team is come down and their master. Master sees Weed and I think he wonder if they are related.

meanwhile is Daisuke and Hidetoshi driving Teru, Musashi and Jaguar back to the place they took them from. And I think Daisuke says something he keept his promise.

Joes master is driving Joe, Weed and the team in his Hummer^^ And Weed sees Joes scar and ask him about it. One of the team start talk about a bear, one femaile with pups.. One day they were out for hunt, they go to her and visit but then they got there, they saw a horrible thing.... A big bear have stamped her pups to death and no hestite Joe attacks the bear gets wounded. The bear ran away then the master come to the place and shoot.


When they come to Joes home Weed says good bye and jump over the big gate.

On the evening then Kotetsu and Koyuki feel something smelling, something they never smelled before...
They sees half eaten dog laying there. They gets scared and runs away, but being stopped by three new dogs.

Correction & Udate:
I was wrong : the dog that got chomped by Mama Hybrid was Liger, not G(u)ilder (dunno spelling). Guilder is the black and white dog with big ears that lives with Joe.

Liger had died, and everyone is crying. Before he had died, he had aked Joe to take his revenge. Joe cries (gosh, I thought he said that he cried out all his tears..... liar...) and promises Liger's lifeless body that he will kill the hybrid bear. Then, everyone sarts digging Liger's grave.

Meanwhile in another area of the mountain, Ken, George, Kagetora, and Hiro arrive. (Don't ask me why)
They come across Mama Hybrid trying to catch a baby black bear who had climbed to a high branch. The mother bear lied bloody and dead nearby.
Suddenly, Kagetora -using Mama Hybrid's back effectively- (ooh, Ninja!) leaps onto the tree and faces Mama Hybrid from the front (OMG he's just like Akame of GNG!!). The others shout Are you nuts, and Kagetora says that he can't stand big guys picking on little guys (maybe because he's a little guy as well LOL).
Kage attacks Mama Hybrid and tries to rip off her nose, but was unsuccessful. He lands on the ground and tries to retreat(?), but the enraged Mama Hybrid stars tearing the trees nearby, and Hiro gets blocked.

1. Who is that mysterious dog in Hokkaido plot?
2. Whatever happened to him?
3. There are some three dogs in that image below who appeared in that Kamakiri subplot and had joined the Ohu pack with the help of Rocket as well as making another appearance in the Hokkaido plot.
May I know what are the names of those three dogs?

1. That's ?Gensui?, Maxime and Lidia's father. He's the General of the Russian dogs. Sadly, his name was never mentioned....
Gensui is not a name but one way of calling the Boss, like the gelada baboon ?Shougun? (this too is not his actual name), and Akame ?Sousui? in GNG.

2. Nothing happened to him. He was waiting for Maxime and Lidia to return to him after conquering Hokkaido so that he and the rest of the dogs left in Russia can go to Hokkaido safely without getting attacked.
Maxime and his two surviving dogs Touly and Lev (don't trust these spellings - dunno Russian) arrive at the shore, and the General shows up to hear his son's report.
Maxime lies that Hokkaido was a lifeless barren land worse than Russia, and that all the other dogs starved to death. The General says to the sea that he is sorry for all that had died, and decides to stay in Russia and do the best to survive.
Maxime thanks Weed (WTF, I thought you were inspired by GIN, not friggin, Weed!!!!) for letting him realise that they should live their own way and not to kill others for the sakeof their own survival. He promised that he teach the others to cooperate and survive together.

Does anyone have more info of Maxime and Lidia's father? What's he doing all the time and what's his background? Sorry just wonder.
